Darf ich mich vorstellen? Mein Name ist René von Dobschütz, bin Jahrgang 1975 und wohne am Niederrhein. Inspiriert durch den großen und unvergessenen Ayrton Senna entstand Ende der ´80er mein Interesse für Motorsport, was sich zunächst 1994 schlagartig und für mich als Teenager schwerwiegend änderte. In dieser Zeit kam ich auch zum Autorennen am Bildschirm, zunächst an einem Schneider CPC, über einen C-128 und später am PC; natürlich in den Anfängen per Tastatur oder Joystick :). Bis dahin beschränkte sich alles auf die Formel- 1.

Mitte der ´90er fand ich dann zunächst etwas Abstand zum PC-Gaming und fand später den Weg zu Flugsimulatoren und RC-Cars. Erst im Jahre 2011 wurde ich wieder neugierig, ob sich frühere Visionen, online gegen richtige Gegner und mit tollen Lenkrädern fahren zu können, mittlerweile bewahrheitet haben. Bei einer Google-Suche fand ich die diversen, zu dieser Zeit aktuellen, Simulatoren wie Race07, GTR und rFactor, -und den ansprechendsten Content bot mir letzterer. Ich war es vom Flugsimulator einfach gewohnt ein großes Angebot an zusätzlichem Content zur Verfügung zu haben. Auf welchem Wege ich damals den Eingang zur Bockbierbude.de gefunden habe, kann ich nicht mehr wirklich erklären, jedoch wurde dies ab Oktober 2011 meine virtuelle Motorsportheimat.

Ich musste erstmal damit umgehen lernen, dass man reale Gegner nicht an seinen eigenen Skill anpassen kann wie die KI, wo man immer der Größte war wenn man es so wollte :). Meine ersten Online-Rennen waren eine Katastrophe, zumal ich von Grand-Prix2/3/4 lediglich F1-Strecken kannte und auf den beliebten GT-Kursen orientierungslos durch die Gegend eierte. Allerdings simulierte ich auch in meinen frühesten Rennen Distanzen wie im realen Racing.

Bis zu und auch zu Beginn meines Einstiegs kannte ich die Nordschleife nur vom Hörensagen und mir war nicht klar, wie man eine Landstraße von mehr als 20 Kilometern und unzähligen Kurven als ernsthafte Rennstrecke bezeichnen konnte. Irgendwann musste ich mich aber bei den offiziellen Events auf die Strecke wagen und ich hatte keine Ahnung, wie ich mir jemals diese merken sollte. Mittlerweile habe ich aber ein paar Runden dort gedreht und weiß halbwegs wo es lang geht ;).

Im Ernst, -über einen gewissen Nen@d bei den Bierbuden entstand ein Kontakt zu Simracing-Deutschland, die mit rFactor1 ein 24h-Rennen auf der Nordschleife durchführen wollten und ich war an dem Punkt wo ich sagte, wer Renn-Fan ist und den Zauber der 24h lieben gelernt hat, der muss einfach mal diese Gelegenheit beim Schopfe packen, -und sei es nur virtuell. Anders als zunächst beabsichtigt in einem SRD-Team, musste ich mir selbst ein paar Mitfahrer unter den "Budisten" suchen und hatte am Ende ein stattliches Team von über 10 Fahrern, die vier Autos unter den Farben der Bockbierbude auf die Strecke brachten.

Nachdem mit diesem Rennen wohl die Langstrecken-Ära von rF1 zu Ende ging, verlagerte sich das Geschehen für uns und für mich zu rF2 und die federführende Community von P1-Gaming organisierte unter anderem eine Langstreckenserie, die 2016 sogar von einem unserer Autos in einer Serie über vier Rennen gewonnen wurde.

Mein eigenes Highlight hierbei war der 24h-Klassiker auf der Nordschleife, wo ich 2015 mit meinen Mitfahrern Tobias Vogt und Stephan Kock auf unserem Nissan GT-R GT3 den zweiten Gesamtrang einfahren konnten. In diesem Rennen zeigte sich, dass nicht bloß der Speed entscheidet, sondern auch eine fehlerfreie und konstante Fahrweise und eine große Portion Glück (oder das Pech der anderen ;) )zu guten Ergebnissen führen. Mittlerweile sind wir die Schleife schon mindestens vier Mal gefahren (2014-2017), sowie zwei Mal 12h jeweils am Mount Panorama, in Spa und in Road America und hatten immer ein tolles Team am Start.

Über die zurückliegenden knapp fünf Jahre hat mich ein (wenig) gebrauchtes Fanatec GT3 RS V2 samt der Club Sport Pedale begleitet, welches ich zu einem guten Preis bei Ebay erstanden habe. Ein paar kleinere elektronische Probleme gab´s mal, aber die Hardware hat mich bislang nie im Stich gelassen; und es waren insgesamt schon viele hunderttausende Kilometer! Zuletzt habe ich zu meinem bereits vorhandenem 24"-Monitor noch zwei baugleiche bei Ebay erstanden und bin nun mit Tripple-Screen unterwegs. Zudem habe ich mir mittels Alu-Profilen eine Basis für einen Rennsitz gebastelt, um vom Bürodrehstuhl wegzukommen :).

Nun ja, all dies hat mich nie dahin gebracht, wo man sich insgeheim immer sehen möchte. Trotzdem habe ich mich sehr positiv entwickelt und schaffe es, so ein Mal im Jahr ein kleineres Event zu gewinnen. Vor allem habe ich aber gelernt, mich und meine Stärken richtig einzuschätzen. Insbesondere die unzähligen Runden der Vorbereitung auf die Langstreckenevents sind unheimlich lehrreich und haben 2017 dazu geführt, dass ich auf der Nordschleife das Quali in einem Starterfeld von 23 GT´s die Pole und im Anschluss das Top10-Qualifying gewinnen konnte. Leider wurde das Rennen durch technische Probleme vorzeitig zur größten Enttäuschung, weil wir nach nicht ganz sieben Stunden dem Server nicht mehr beitreten konnten.

May I introduce myself? My name is René von Dobschütz, born 1975 and lives at the Lower Rhine in Nordrheinwestfalen in Germany. Inspired by the great and unforgotten Ayrton Senna, my interest for motorsport developed at the end of the '80s, which changed first and foremost in 1994 and for me as a teenager. In this time I also came to the racing on the screen, first on a Schneider CPC, via a C-128 and later on the PC; Of course in the beginning by keyboard or joystick :). Until then, everything was limited to Formula One.

In the middle of the '90s, I first found some distance to PC gaming and later found the way to flight simulators and RC cars. It was in 2011 that I became curious again, whether previous visions, to drive online against right opponents and with great steering wheels, now have been true. In a Google search I found the various current simulators like Race07, GTR and rFactor and the most appealing content offered me the latter. I was just using the flight simulator to have a lot of additional content available. In what way I have found the entrance to the Bockbierbude.de I can no longer really explain, however, this became starting from October 2011 my virtual motorsports home.

I had to learn how to handle real opponents to their own skill as the AI, where you were always the greatest when you wanted it. My first online races were a disaster, especially as I knew of Grand Prix 2/3/4 only F1 tracks and on the popular GT courses orientated without orientation. However, I simulated even in my earliest races distances as in the real racing.

Up to and even at the beginning of my entry, I knew the Nordschleife only from the distance and I was not clear, how one could describe a highway of more than 20 kilometers and countless curves as a serious race track. Eventually, I had to dare to take part in the official events and I had no idea, how I would ever remember them. Meanwhile, I have but a few laps rotated there and knows half way where it is long;).

Seriously-about a certain Nen@d at the Bierbuden.de came a contact to Simracing Germany, who wanted to do a 24-hour race on the Nordschleife with rFactor1 and I was at the point where I said, who is racing fan and the Magic of the 24h has learned to love, just have to grab this opportunity at the top, -and be it only virtual. Unlike an SRD team initially, I had to look for a few riders among the "Budists", and finally had a handsome team of over 10 riders, who put four cars under the colors of the Bockbierbude on the track.

After this race had probably ended the long-range era of rF1, the happenings for us and for me rF2 shifted and the leading community of P1-Gaming organized among other things a Langstreckserie, the 2016 even from one of our cars in a series over Four races was won.

My own highlight here was the 24h classic on the Nordschleife, where I had the second overall rank with our riders Tobias Vogt and Stephan Kock on our Nissan GT-R GT3. In this race it was shown that not only the speed decides, but also a faultless and constant driving mode and a large portion of luck (or the bad luck of the others;)) lead to good results. In the meantime, we have driven the loop at least four times (2014-2017), two times 12h at Mount Panorama, Spa and Road America and always had a great team at the start.

Over the past nearly five years, I have a (little) used Fanatec GT3 RS V2 along with the club sports pedals, which I bought at a good price at Ebay. There were a few minor electronic problems, but the hardware has never let me down; And there were a total of many hundred thousand kilometers! Lastly, I bought my second 24 "monitor and I bought two identical ones at Ebay and I am now on triple screen. I also made a base for a race seat using aluminum profiles to get away from the office chair.

Well, all this has never brought me to where you want to always see secret. Nevertheless, I have developed very positively and manage to win a small event every year. Above all, I have learned to assess myself correctly and to assess my strengths. Especially the countless rounds of preparation for the long-distance events are incredibly instructive, so in 2017 I was able to win the qualifying in a grid of 23 GTs on the Nordschleife, followed by the Top10 qualifying. Unfortunately, the race was prematurely disappointed by technical issues because we were not able to join the server after less than seven hours.
